Training program

Full-time training from scratch to master hash board repair. Real practice in the service center for diagnostics and repair of popular ASIC models. You will learn how to identify and troubleshoot common ASIC faults on production boards. After completing the training, you will be able to independently diagnose and repair the hash of the board.


ASIC diagnostics

Training in diagnostics at the control points of the hash board, using a multimeter and an oscilloscope. The control points of the Antminer hash board are designed to measure the voltages necessary for the correct operation of the device. They are set by the manufacturer to facilitate the maintenance and repair of ASICs.


Learning how to repair ASICs, you will learn to understand the signals, namely:

  • what these signals are needed for in the device
  • what function does each of them perform during operation

Types of signals, their direction:

  • CLK – a clock signal, enters the microcircuit from the clock generator, is generated by a quartz resonator, and is transmitted from the first to the last chip. It is the main signal for the operation of the ASIC chip. Diagnosed with an oscilloscope. The signal shape is checked at the input and at the output of the chip, it must be the same, it should be 0.9 V in amplitude.
  • RI/RO – signal reception. Transmitted from the last to the first chip. It has a high voltage level of 1.8 V. (RI – signal input to the microcircuit, RO – signal output from the chip)
  • BI/BO – pulse signal (sent from the first to the last chip). During operation, its amplitude is 0.3 V.
  • RST – reset signal, transmitted from the first chip to the last one. Has a high voltage level, 1.8 V, at the time of calculation.
  • CO – data transfer from the first to the last.

ASIC soldering

During ASIC repair training, you will learn how to solder chips in QFN cases. In practice, master the soldering of hash boards, in the following sequence:

  • Dismantling of heat sinks
  • Cleaning the surface of the chip from the remnants of hot glue
  • Soldering an integrated circuit
  • Pad preparation
  • Tinning a new chip
  • Positioning the chip on the board

Control board repair

  2. Reading logs
  3. Common errors in miner logs
  4. EEPROM firmware training
  5. Replacing the processor on the control board
  6. Soldering resistors, BGA chips
  7. Loss of hashrate (different readings in the web interface and on the pool, more than 10%)
  8. Virus detection and removal
  9. The miner does not produce the required hashrate (⅔) the temperature sensor is triggered

  • L3+ and S9 structure (all modifications): case, control board, board hash, power supply, coolers, connecting wires

Power Supply Repair Training

The switching power supply is an integral part of the miner that provides the hash of the board and the control board with a stable high-quality voltage necessary for the operation of the ASIC and maintaining the specified HashRate.  


UPS recovery training is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  1. Structural diagrams of PSU ASICs
  2. Study of circuit design
  3. UPS Diagnostics
  4. Measurements with a multimeter (voltage), oscilloscope (signals)
  5. Elimination of short circuits and breaks
  6. Replacement of faulty power elements
  7. Turning on the UPS without load, checking the output voltage of idling
  8. Algorithm for testing the power supply of the miner after repair, under load
  9. ASIC maintenance (bolt broaching, cleaning from dirt, cleaning of oxidized contacts, purging with a compressor, drying)

ASIC malfunctions

During the training, you will learn typical ASIC faults and how to fix them:

The duration of the ASIC diagnostic and recovery course is from 7 to 14 days. It depends on your initial knowledge in electronics repair. If you have not previously dealt with the repair of electronic devices, we recommend a course that lasts 14 days. And if with a multimeter and an oscilloscope “for you”, then 7 days will be enough. You choose.
